Coco Gauff previously named the Grand Slam that in her opinion is giving the US Open a run for its money.

The 20-year-old first took the tennis world by storm as a 15-year-old when Gauff defeated Venus Williams at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships.

Since then she has competed at each Grand Slam on multiple occasions and emerged victorious at the 2023 US Open.

In 2025 Gauff is searching for more success at Grand Slam level which in turn would help her achieve a goal of becoming the World number one.

Coco Gauff names the Grand Slam rivalling the US Open

Coco Gauff thrives when she plays at her home Grand Slam of the US Open.

The crowd were instrumental in the 20-year-old’s run to the title in 2023, especially in the final when she came from a set down to beat Aryna Sabalenka.

Gauff has played some of her best tennis in New York, but she also thoroughly enjoys playing at the Australian Open.

Back in 2020 Gauff credited the crowds at Melbourne Park for being almost as loud and passionate as those at Flushing Meadows.

“Before going into Australia, the US Open has always been my favorite. Now I’m pretty sure it’s close between the Australia and US Open,” Gauff told reporters during the 2020 Australian Open.

“So we’ll see with more experience, as I play more than a couple of times, I really, really truly love it here. US Open I expected to be the favorite. Here I didn’t really know what to expect.

“The whole stadium was really rooting for me in all my matches. That was really surprising, considering this isn’t my home slam, and I hadn’t done well in juniors here.

“I don’t know why I get the Aussie chant. Hopefully I continue to get an Aussie chant. I guess I’m an adopted Australian now.”
