Jannik Sinner has been a class above in Cincinnati so far, easing into the semifinals.
Searching for his second consecutive Cincinnati Open title, the Italian star made a strong start in Mason, Ohio.
After beating Colombia’s Daniel Galan 6-1, 6-1, in his opener, Sinner took down Gabriel Diallo and Adrian Mannarino in straight sets to reach the quarterfinals.

There, Sinner defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-0, 6-2, booking his spot in the semis, where he will play qualifier Terence Atmane.
Not only will Sinner look to secure his place in the final against Atmane, but he will also be putting a four-year, 21-match winning streak on the line.

Jannik Sinner’s last defeat to a French player
Four years ago, Sinner travelled to Lyon in search of his third ATP Tour title.
After receiving a bagel in the first set of his opening match, Sinner fought back to defeat Aslan Karatsev, setting up a second-round tie against Arthur Rinderknech.
In a tense affair, it was Sinner who took the early advantage, taking the first set 7-6 [9-7].
Unfortunately for Sinner, he couldn’t maintain the level he showed in the first, as Rinderknech came back to win in three sets, 6-7, 6-2, 7-5.

The loss was Sinner’s fifth and last against a Frenchman, before he embarked on his remarkable winning run.

Sinner will play Atmane in the Cincinnati semis on Saturday, August 16.
