Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard is no longer working with his coach after announcing their separation.
Mpetshi Perricard was the biggest server on the ATP Tour last year, hitting an average first serve speed of 134.4 mph.
This serve enabled Mpetshi Perricard to have a breakthrough season in 2024, but the Frenchman struggled to find the same form in 2025.
After losing his third consecutive match in 2026, Mpetshi Perricard has now announced that he is parting ways with his coach of four years.

Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard releases statement after splitting from coach
Mpetshi Perricard has a career-high ranking of world number 29, which he achieved after winning ATP titles in Lyon and Basel.
The man who has helped Mpetshi Perricard achieve these successes is his coach of four years, Emmanuel Planque.
However, that partnership has now come to an end, with Mpetshi Perricard thanking Planque for all of his support.
“After 4 years of working together, my collaboration with Emmanuel Planque has ended,” Mpetshi Perricard wrote on Instagram.
“Manu, I thank you for the work done and your total commitment which have allowed me to grow, not only as a tennis player, but also as a person. This step will mean a lot in my journey. Giovanni.”
Mpetshi Perricard began his collaboration with Planque when he was ranked outside the top 1000, and he is now the world number 56.

What is next for Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard?
Despite all of the success they achieved together, Mpetshi and Planque’s working relationship actually finished on a sour note.

It appears as though this injury was nothing too severe, as Mpetshi Perricard is returning to competition just a week later.
At his first tournament since splitting from Planque, Mpetshi Perricard will compete at the Rotterdam Open, where Alex de Minaur is the top seed.
Who will win the 2026 Rotterdam Open?
Mpetshi Perricard will play home favorite Tallon Griekspoor in the first round, whom he lost to in their only previous meeting.
This first round match at the Rotterdam Open will take place on Tuesday, February 10.
