The 2024 season saw some brilliant shots from the top players in men’s tennis.
From the beginning of the ATP season in Australia to its conclusion in Turin, players have wowed fans with scintillating shot-making throughout the year.
Part of what makes tennis great is its variety, where players can smash through service games with thunderous aces, just as freely as they can play the deftest of drop-shots.
Upon the conclusion of the 2024 season, the ATP Top ten have been ranked with their best shots of the year.
The best shot of each member of the ATP top ten in 2024
1. Jannik Sinner – Halle
Facing off against Tallon Griekspoor in the third round of Halle, Jannik Sinner found himself a set down, but with a golden opportunity to break in the second.
Well out of position after his Dutch opponent’s shot clipped the top of the net, the Italian dove to the ground for one of the most athletic gets you will ever see.
The 23-year-old stood with his hand on his hips as he took in the admiration from the crowd, after such a stunning shot.
Sinner went on to win the match and the tournament, another key moment in his unbelievable season.
2. Alexander Zverev – Miami
Locked in a 32-shot rally with Grigor Dimitrov, Alexander Zverev produced an extraordinary shot to win the point against the Bulgarian.
There were enough shots from both players to win the point multiple times, but Zverev’s power and athleticism finally put him in a position to take advantage.
A stunning shot that wasn’t quite enough to help Zverev to victory as Dimitrov closed things out in three sets to advance to the final.
3. Carlos Alcaraz – Indian Wells
You could choose any of Carlos Alcaraz’s shots and it likely wouldn’t seem out of place on a list like this, but his best came against Daniil Medvedev at Indian Wells.
Moved all around the court by the Russian, the 21-year-old produced a stunning shot to keep himself in the rally before regaining composure to win the point with a forehand down the line.

4. Taylor Fritz – Madrid
You wouldn’t expect two players of Taylor Fritz and Hubert Hurkacz’s height to play one of the best points all year, but that’s exactly what we got at the Madrid Masters earlier this year.
Moving each other around the court, Fritz was finally able to take advantage as he hit a backhand on the stretch to win a sensational rally.
The point helped the American on his way to the quarter-finals in Madrid.
5. Daniil Medvedev – Indian Wells
Locked in a second set tiebreaker, Medvedev fought a brilliant point against a game Tommy Paul, who simply wouldn’t give it up.
The American reached three or four shots that most other players would’ve given up on before Medvedev kept his cool to finish the job.
A stunning point from both players and one that caused a big swing that saw Medvedev turn things around and qualify for the final.
6. Casper Ruud – Moselle
Casper Ruud and Benjamin Bonzi played what can only be described as an exhibition point in Moselle earlier this month.
Ruud eventually lost the match, but pulled out all the stops for this point, with a casual shot between the legs a clear highlight.
7. Novak Djokovic – Shanghai
Novak Djokovic raised the roof with an ‘outrageous’ shot in Shanghai, against American rising star Alex Michelsen.
Level at 2-2 in a second-set tiebreak, Djokovic wasn’t even looking the right way when he slid his way into a backhand that somehow won him the point.
A stunning shot and one that helped him advance past Michelsen, on his way to the Shanghai final.
8. Andrey Rublev – Dubai
Rublev may be best known for his thunderous forehands but his effort in Dubai this year showed a touch of class that the Russian will remember for quite some time.
The 27-year-old sliced his way past the approaching Arthur Cazaux as he won a fantastic point on his way to the Dubai Open last four.
9. Alex de Minaur – Queens
Alex de Minaur went airborne for his incredible effort against Lorenzo Musetti at Queen’s Club earlier this year.
The Australian flung himself in the air to put away Musetti after a marathon rally in the first set of the round of 32.
It set the tone for the match as De Minaur stormed to a one-set lead before the Italian came through to win in three.
10. Grigor Dimitrov – Indian Wells
Dimitrov had no right to win the point he did against Alexandre Muller at Indian Wells, but somehow the 33-year-old made it work.
Despite stumbling to the floor, the Bulgarian managed to return Muller’s effort before smashing it home for a backhand winner.
An astonishing shot, that helped him on his way to a straight sets win over his French opponent.
