Alexandra Eala’s remarkable rise to tennis stardom
At 19 years of age, Eala has her whole career ahead of her, with many now predicting big things for the youngster.
Her journey to the top 100 began long before her trip to Florida, however, competing in juniors for several years.
Eala has trained at the Rafael Nadal Academy in Manorca, Spain, since the age of 12, making her Grand Slam juniors debut three years later.

She became the first Filipino player to win a Grand Slam title when she won the Australian Open junior doubles tournament in 2020, doubling her tally when she took victory in Paris in 2021.
- 2020 Australian Open Junior doubles – Alexandra Eala/Priska Madelyn Nugroho beat Ziva Falkner/Matilda Mutavdzic, 6-1, 6-2
- 2021 French Open Junior doubles – Alexandra Eala/Oksana Selekhmeteva beat Maria Bondarenko/Amarissa Kiara Toth, 6-0, 7-5
Eala took her first singles crown at the US Open in 2022, taking down Czech youngster Lucie Havlickova in the final.
