Novak Djokovic gave tennis fans everywhere a huge scare when he went to the floor during one of his recent French Open epics.
The Serbian forced his way into the fourth round at Roland Garros after emerging victorious from a five-set thriller against Lorenzo Musetti.
And that was immediately followed up by another five-set battle, with Djokovic again coming out on top, this time against Francisco Cerundolo.
But the top seed needed plenty of treatment from his physio throughout the match, both on the court as he lay on the ground and at his chair.
And despite securing a quarter-final clash with Casper Ruud, it would prove to be the end of Djokovic’s tournament, with the Serbian needing surgery on a torn meniscus on his right knee.

Novak Djokovic shares injury update after knee surgery
The former world number one quickly confirmed that the surgery had been a success, and that he was doing his best to get back onto the court as soon as possible.
And his latest update proves that he was very much telling the truth, with Djokovic now sharing a video of himself carrying out various training exercises.
The update on his Instagram shows the tennis legend on an exercise bike and strengthening his leg in the gym, with Djokovic writing the caption: “Progress.”
It certainly seems that a return to the court is not far away, but the doctor who performed the surgery has confirmed that he will not be 100% for Wimbledon, which takes place at the beginning of July.
Tennis fans shocked by what Novak Djokovic has just done
It has been a remarkably quick journey back to the gym for the 24-time Grand Slam winner, with tennis fans unsurprisingly left stunned at how rapidly he has returned.
Many have taken to X to share their shock at the icon, with one user writing: “Brother having a full leg workout, one week after an operation this guy’s NOT NORMAL.”
Another fan wrote: “From everything I’ve read about a torn meniscus it’s quite a long recovery time. 3-6 months with just rehab or 3-6 weeks after a meniscectomy. Not sure what kind of meniscus injury this is!”
Another comment read: “High-performance athletes endure things that regular humans like me can’t fathom. This fast recovery is crazy.”
Other stunned users commented: “Built different,” “This guy is a machine!” and “How is he moving like that so quick, he’s different.”
