A tennis fan made a stunningly accurate prediction about the Olympic Games three years before it happened.

The latest edition of tennis at the Olympics has now concluded and it has crowned a new champion in the form of Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic defeated Carlos Alcaraz to complete the Golden Slam at the Olympics, while Lorenzo Musetti claimed the bronze medal.

The 22-year-old defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime to win a medal for Italy and continue his fine form in 2024.

Alcaraz and Musetti claimed some prestigious Olympic hardware in Paris, and a tennis fan somehow predicted that would come to fruition three years ago.

Following the conclusion of the delayed Tokyo Olympics in 2021 which was won by Alexander Zverev, Tennis TV asked for fans to share who they think would claim the medals at the 2024 Paris Games.

User @balrajshukla tipped Alcaraz to win silver and Musetti to win bronze and three years later, his prediction came true.

This is all the more remarkable given Alcaraz was ranked just outside the top 70 in August 2021, while Musetti was outside the world’s top 60.

He also predicted Jannik Sinner to win gold, but he did not participate in Paris due to illness.

Carlos Alcaraz began his campaign with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Hady Habib from Lebanon before he eliminated Talon Griekspoor.

Roman Safiullin claimed six games before Alcaraz beat him to move into the quarter-finals where Tommy Paul was waiting.

The 21-year-old defeated the American 6-3, 7-6, before annihilating Auger-Aliassime 6-1, 6-1 in the semi-finals.

It was going to take a special performance to defeat Alcaraz, and that’s exactly what Djokovic produced when he claimed a 7-6, 7-6 win to become Olympic champion for the first time.

Musetti on the other hand, began his Olympics run by beating veteran Gael Monfils and raucous home French crowd in round one.

He took out Mariano Navone in round two and secured his fourth successive win over Taylor Fritz in the third round.

He then knocked out the defending champion Zverev, before losing to Djokovic once again. The Italian ended the Olympics with a bronze medal with a win over Auger-Aliassime.
