Four players remain in the 2026 Australian Open men’s singles draw.

One of Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, and Alexander Zverev will lift the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup on Sunday, but who will it be?

Djokovic has history on his side, having won 10 titles at the event, while Sinner enters the final four as the two-time defending champion.

Then there’s Zverev, the sport’s greatest nearly-man, and Alcaraz, the world number one looking to complete his Career Grand Slam.

Who is going to win the men’s Australian Open title?

It’s almost impossible to call, but searching for the answer, we asked our fans to pick their Australian Open men’s singles winner on TalkingPoints.

Tennis fans predict Carlos Alcaraz will win the Australian Open

Spain’s Alcaraz won the largest share of the vote (50%) ahead of Sinner (34%).

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the two semifinal underdogs, Djokovic (11%) and Zverev (6%), aren’t fancied by the fans.

Alcaraz won the vote, but why did fans pick him instead of Sinner?

“Carlos [Alcaraz] has it in the bag this year; his play so far has been superb,” one fan said.

Truer words have never been spoken. Of the four semifinalists, no one has impressed as much as Alcaraz this year.

How the 2026 Australian Open semifinalists have performed so far

Alcaraz is the only semifinalist yet to drop a set at the 2026 Australian Open.

That’s not to say everyone’s on Alcaraz’s side, though, as others believe Sinner, and even Djokovic, can win the title.

“[Jannik] Sinner,” said a fan on TalkingPoints.

“I know I am partial, because I like him, but it is not only wishful thinking.

“Forza Jannik!”

“Normally, I expect Novak [Djokovic],” added another.

“But as it’s already shown, he’s not as vibrant as he was before.

“And having the two toughest players to contend with, well, I will go for the all-time favorite: Jannik Sinner.

“Although I still expect a miracle for Novak.”

Alcaraz, Sinner, and Djokovic are the three names that keep cropping up, but who has the better Australian Open record?

All three players have enjoyed success down under.

However, when looking at the stats, there’s a clear number one, two, and three.

Djokovic has, by far, the best record of the trio, winning 10 titles and 103 matches at the event.

He’s followed by Sinner, the two-time champion, and Alcaraz, who has yet to win the title down under.

Those numbers point to Djokovic being the clear favorite, so why don’t fans think he is going to lift the trophy this weekend?

Well, unfortunately for Djokovic and his fans, however you like to frame it, he is past his prime.

At 38, he’s 14 years older than Sinner, and 16 years older than Alcaraz.

During difficult best-of-five-set Grand Slam matches, the age difference becomes apparent.

In 2025, Djokovic played four matches against the pair at major tournaments and won just once.

Even though Djokovic played fewer matches than anyone else on his way to the semis, it’s hard to imagine him outlasting Alcaraz and Sinner physically to win the title.

Does Alexander Zverev have any chance of winning the Australian Open?

It seems unfair to completely ignore the German, given that he, too, is one of the best players in men’s tennis.

Zverev has one big problem, though: he hasn’t won a Grand Slam.

Three times he’s tried, and three times he’s failed.

Few believe he has what it takes to get over the line and win a maiden Grand Slam, especially in a field consisting of Alcaraz, Sinner, and Djokovic.

But sport often throws up surprises, so don’t be shocked if Zverev crashes the party in Melbourne…

Alcaraz will play Zverev, and Sinner will play Djokovic in the 2026 Australian Open semifinals on Friday, January 30.
