When it comes to Stefanos Tsitsipas, it’s fair to say that he’s striving for some consistency when it comes to the big tournaments.
Tsitsipas is very capable of going on the big runs to the business end of competitions.
He proved that in 2021, when he reached the French Open final, and in 2023, when he went all the way to the final at the Australian Open, with both ending in defeat to Novak Djokovic.
Tsitsipas is on a horrible run at the majors right now, however, and since reaching the last eight at the French Open in 2024, he’s won just a single Grand Slam match.
Desperate times call for desperate measures and the Greek performer has now called for the cavalry.

Tennis fans all agree as Stefanos Tsitsipas takes on Goran Ivanisevic as new coach
This looks like a very bold move and fans think working alongside Ivanisevic will lead to him finally grabbing hold of a Grand Slam title.
Another Tsitsipas follower said on social media: “Will Goran get a bonus if his client gets a GS etc? This is exciting news! Good luck to Stefanos. Zverev, Rune or Ruud could have grabbed Ivanisevic too.”
One fan thinks other players have missed a trick, saying: “Would love to hear about all the players behind the scenes trying to land Goran. What a great pickup for Tsitsipas.”
Finally, a tennis fan agreed with the majority and said: “Ahhh, Stef is finally ready to win a Grand Slam.”
Ivanisevic is seriously good coup for Tsitsipas
Some of the comments from tennis fans are accurate when they imply that Ivanisevic could have had his pick of the men’s locker room.
It might sound simplistic to presume that he’s only been part of several title wins because he worked with a legend like Djokovic but that would be taking away from his coaching prowess.
| Goran Ivanisevic wins as a coach | Player |
| Australian Open x3 | Novak Djokovic |
| Wimbledon x3 | Novak Djokovic |
| French Open x2 | Novak Djokovic |
| US Open x2 | Novak Djokovic & Marin Cilic |
| ATP Finals x2 | Novak Djokovic |
| ATP Tour Masters 1000 x7 | Novak Djokovic |
The Croatian is a born-winner himself, having lifted the Wimbledon crown in 2001 and he could be very good for Tsitsipas as he looks to break the glass ceiling on his career.
Ivanisevic will start working with Tsitsipas after the French Open but it looks certain that he will be monitoring him closely in the meantime, with the player still gunning for glory in Monte Carlo.
