Taylor Fritz can be very proud of his efforts in 2024 so far, with the American producing many top results throughout the season.

The 26-year-old has a record of 25-11 for the year, with a title coming at the Delray Beach Open back in February.

That was secured thanks to a 6-2, 6-3 win over compatriot Tommy Paul, and arrived not long after Fritz made it to the Australian Open quarter-finals.

Unfortunately standing in his way in Melbourne was Novak Djokovic, with the Serb coming out on top 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

It is now the turn of the grass courts in the tennis calendar, with Wimbledon next up in the schedule now that the French Open is over.

Taylor Fritz makes a prediction for his grass season

Fritz also gave it a very good go in Paris, but his tournament was brought to an end in the fourth round by seventh-seed Casper Ruud.

That lengthy run came despite the American being displeased with the balls used, claiming they were ‘very, very heavy and soft’.

But the second major of the year is behind him, with Fritz now looking to achieve new success on the grass courts.

When asked for a bold prediction for his grass season, Fritz told the ATP Tour on X: “I don’t know what is going too bold here. Two titles on grass, that’s pretty bold.”

Will Carlos Alcaraz be too strong at Wimbledon?

Fritz has big ambitions for the coming months, but they could, of course, be immediately quashed by Carlos Alcaraz.

The world number two heads into the grass season in superb form, having just lifted the French Open title.

Moreover, he is the defending champion at Wimbledon, having overcome Djokovic in a five-set thriller in 2023.

Ruling the Spaniard out of a second-successive title would be foolish, but perhaps the likes of Fritz and the other men’s stars may be given some confidence from Alcaraz’s upcoming appearance at the Olympics.

Despite his youth, the 21-year-old is more than capable of competing in various events, but he may just be slightly distracted given that he will play doubles alongside his ‘idol’ Rafael Nadal later this summer.
