Taylor Fritz has made his big prediction about the future of tennis, and who might still be around competing in ten years’ time.
The American has been on tour for what feels like forever, and yet is still just 27 years old.
He still boasts many more seasons competing on tour, with his brutal, big-serving game one that could bring him great longevity too, as it is unlikely to lose its success rate.
That being said, there are a handful of opponents in the modern game that he just cannot seem to overcome.
So, when asked to name who the world number one player might be in ten years’ time, his answer was fairly routine.
Taylor Fritz makes a prediction about the future of tennis
Chatting to Broadcast Boys, they sought to ask Taylor Fritz questions that he had never been asked before.
One came in this form, where they implored him to peer into the future of his sport and tell them what he saw.
Predicting the top-ranked player a decade from now, his answer was short but decisive.
He stated: ‘It could very easily still be Carlos or Jannik. I am going to say Carlos because he’s a bit younger. That’s not crazy to say.’
‘I feel like he is winning the tournament, for sure. I think he could make it work if he is serving from the service line.’
This came just before Fritz’s Wimbledon match vs Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard was delayed, leaving the 27-year-old rightly frustrated.
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are poised to dominate for the next decade
This is far from an unpopular pick, given how Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have both emerged to create a duopoly over the sport.
Just as Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal were waning, they have burst onto the scene to establish a new domination that has once again shut out the likes of Fritz, Alexander Zverev and Casper Ruud from winning these Grand Slam titles.

What’s scary is how good they already are for their ages, boasting all the physical assets that come with youth but blending that with a maturity and game intelligence that usually only reveals itself with time on tour.
Neither Alcaraz nor Sinner has ever been keen to waste time though, and now have shared the last six Grand Slam titles between one another.
Few would predict this domination from ceasing anytime soon, with Wimbledon in full swing, and the US Open to come.
