Taylor Fritz enjoyed a fine grass-court season, with his focus now turning to the clay of the 2024 Olympics.

Roland Garros hosts the event later this summer, with Fritz having reached the fourth round of the French Open at that venue last month.

He then swapped clay for grass and reached the quarter-finals at Queen’s, before going all the way at the Eastbourne International.

Fritz then shone brightly at Wimbledon, with the American finally falling at the quarter-final stage to Lorenzo Musetti.

The Italian won 3-6, 7-6(7-5), 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 in three hours and 27 minutes, with Andy Roddick calling the Fritz defeat ‘ugly’.

Taylor Fritz names four players who could win Olympic gold

The US Open represents the fourth and final major of the season, with the action taking place in Queens, New York.

But Fritz will first be eager to impress for Team USA in Paris, where he has identified four players who could stand in his way of winning the gold medal.

“I mean everyone’s good, but I think the main people to watch out for are going to be Carlos [Alcaraz], [Jannik] Sinner, Novak [Djokovic] and Rafa [Rafael Nadal],” said Fritz, as quoted by NBC.

Taylor Fritz ready to enjoy his Olympics debut despite injury

Fritz knows all about representing Team USA, having been a long-serving member of their Davis Cup team.

But Paris 2024 represents his first-ever Olympics, with the American in for a tough challenge given the quality of opposition.

Worryingly, things have been made more difficult for the 26-year-old, with Fritz admitting that an injury suffered at the French Open was worse than he made out.

He is, however, looking forward to his Olympics debut, revealing that he plans to take in the entire experience.

“Most weeks on tour, I like to keep it super chill and like to stay in my room and not really do anything,” Fritz added.

“I think at the Olympics I’m definitely going to be trying my best to get around and do things and you know, make the most of my free time.”
