Taylor Fritz is a man on a mission at Wimbledon, and he is now through to the quarterfinals.
The American has been in fine form at this yearβs Championships, having dropped just one set throughout his first four matches.
Fritz booked his place in the last eight with a 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Alexander Bublik, and will now take on the winner of Alexander Zverevβs match with Jiri Lehecka, which got suspended on Monday night due to the 11pm curfew after the German went two sets up.
What is preventing Taylor Fritz from winning a Grand Slam?
The US number two made the semifinals at Wimbledon last year before ultimately falling to Carlos Alcaraz.
He is now bidding to make his second Grand Slam final, having reached the championship match at the 2024 US Open.

Taylor Fritz makes Wimbledon quarterfinals for third straight year
Fritz has now made the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the fourth time in his career, and for the third consecutive season.
He joins Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner as one of three players who have advanced to the last eight in menβs singles at the All England Club in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
How would you rate Novak Djokovicβs chances of winning Wimbledon?
Fritz has a golden opportunity to become the first American man to win a Grand Slam singles title since Andy Roddick in 2003, with the 28-year-old on the opposite side of the draw to both Sinner and Djokovic.
Should he beat the winner of Zverev and Lehecka, Fritz will be faced with either Flavio Cobolli or home hope Arthur Fery in the semifinals.
Roddickβs triumph in 2003 came at the US Open, but the last American man to win Wimbledon was Pete Sampras in 2000.

Taylor Fritz gives fitness update ahead of Wimbledon quarterfinals
Fritz has been dealing with knee tendonitis for months, but says now he is feeling better physically.
He explained: βI felt good about my game at World Tour Finals last year, but my body wasnβt there, Iβd say.
βThe last time I felt good about my body would have been, like, Tokyo probably, like after US Open, Laver Cup, Tokyo, is the last time Iβd say I remember kind of playing and not thinking about knee pain or whatever when I was playing.
βYeah, itβs great to be back at that again.β
Fritz is currently ranked seventh in the world, having been as high as fourth.
