Amanda Anisimova has continued her dream run at Wimbledon by reaching the final, having just knocked out world number one Aryna Sabalenka.
Anisimova beat top seed Sabalenka 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 on Centre Court, and now faces either Iga Swiatek or Belinda Bencic in the final.
Tennis icon Andy Roddick has been delighted for Anisimova at Wimbledon this year, where the American is now into her first Grand Slam final.
Another tennis legend in Martina Navratilova gave Anisimova a good chance of beating Sabalenka, which she did after two hours and 36 minutes.
She now boasts a superb 6-3 head-to-head record over the WTA number one, who she was quick to praise after their exciting match.

Speaking on court following the shock win, a delighted Anisimova commented: “This does not feel real right now honestly.
“Aryna is such a tough competitor and I was absolutely dying out there. I don’t know how I pulled it out. She is such an incredible competitor, she is an inspiration to me and I’m sure so many other people.
“We have had so many tough battles and to come out on top today and be in the final of Wimbledon is so incredibly special.
“The atmosphere was incredible today, I mean I know she is number one but a lot of people were cheering for me, so I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone.”
Amanda Anisimova says what it means to reach the Wimbledon final
The Wimbledon crowd was certainly treated to a fantastic battle between the duo, who also met at last month’s French Open.
Sabalenka won that fourth round encounter at Roland Garros, with Anisimova having now enacted revenge over the Belarusian in London.
The American took a mental health break in 2023, spending seven months away from the sport, with her dream return now continuing at Wimbledon.
Discussing her latest victory further, she said: “To be honest if you told me I would be in the final of Wimbledon I would not believe, at least not this soon.
“It has been a year turnaround since coming back and to be in this spot is not easy. So many people dream of competing on this incredible court. It has been such a privilege to compete here. To be in the final is indescribable, honestly.”
It has been a phenomenal season so far for the 23-year-old, who reached the semi-finals of the French Open back in 2019.
She’s now flying high again at Wimbledon, but has another huge task ahead against either Swiatek or Bencic at the All England Club.
