David Beckham served Manchester United with distinction and tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas was given the chance to rub shoulders with him.
You’d have to go some way to find a footballer who has played for as many top clubs as Beckham. United, Real Madrid, PSG, AC Milan and LA Galaxy all sit on his impressive CV.
Beckham won six Premier League titles, the FA Cup twice, the Champions League and league titles in Italy and Spain during a trophy-laden career. He also won 115 England caps.
Recently, Beckham was spotted in attendance at a Tsitsipas match at the Miami Open. Afterwards, he was invited to the stadium of Inter Miami for a tour and to play some football on the pitch.
He also had some words for the Greek star and now the world number 12 has been explaining what the football legend had to say to him.

This feels like an unlikely duo but Beckham and Tsitsipas did rub shoulders when they met at the Miami Open.
These days, Beckham is in charge of things at Inter Miami and he invited Tsitsipas to his base to show him the work he’s doing at the MLS club.
He’s now shared what Beckham had to say to him and it would appear that he’s fond of tennis himself.
Tsitsipas told The Tennis Channel: “It was a lot of fun, we spoke with David, he loves tennis, he told us how his kids are big into tennis but they stopped playing these days – I remember those days.
“It was nice to get into conversation with him and he was very nice to us and hosted us in the perfect way. We got to play a little bit of soccer and it was really nice to do. He says he’s going to have us again in the future.”
Tsitsipas needs winning mentality – just like Beckham
No Greek player has ever been as high as the world number three that Tsitsipas held earlier in his career.
To date, however, he’s not managed to break through and win a Grand Slam title and that must be something he’s keen to achieve.
Tsitsipas has come close on two occasions to winning a big one. He reached the French Open final in 2021 and the Australian Open final in 2023.
It’s fair to say he’s been underwhelming at Wimbledon where he’s never gone past round four and the US Open where the third round is his best finish.
At 25-years-old, there is bags of time on his side. Tsitsipas has also won the Tour Finals so he can get up for the big occasions.
The Greek star just needs to think like a winner and in hindsight, Beckham was probably the perfect sports star for him to have a chat to.
He never knew when he was beaten during his career and if Tsitsipas can adapt a winner’s mentality akin to that of Beckham he could soon be in business.
