Stefanos Tsitsipas has had little time to revel in his Monte-Carlo success, as he is already in Barcelona ready to try and win another tournament.
Such is the gruelling and unrelenting life of a tennis player, the Greek star will now face Sebastian Ofner tomorrow.
Meanwhile, his girlfriend Paula Badosa is also set to be in action after she cruised into the Round of 16 in Stuttgart, setting up a mouth-watering clash with best friend Aryna Sabalenka.
The 82-ranked WTA player was hugely impressive in her win over Diana Shnaider, but speaking live Tsitsipas did have a few pointers for her…
Stefanos Tsitsipas offers advice to Paula Badosa
Speaking live on the Tennis Channel just yesterday, they kickstarted their interview by asking him about his triumph in Monte-Carlo, where he had recently beaten Casper Ruud to claim his third title at the event.
It was an emphatic win, as he cruised to claim his first piece of silverware of 2024.
However, that chat was quickly disrupted by Badosa, who was playing live while they spoke.
That distraction actually provided a fresh talking point though, with the pundits asking Tsitsipas about the Spaniard and how she enjoys clay.
The 25-year-old was rather cutthroat in his analysis, speaking with a smile: ‘Absolutely, I think she has played on clay more than most players have actually. She has been raised in Spain, a very historic country when it comes to clay court tournaments, and she is building a culture around clay.

‘We have spoken about it a lot of times, she does like it indeed.
‘I still think she can improve on the sliding, there are a few things we have discussed, but I still believe she has a lot of potential in building a much greater game and also I would love to see her win the Roland-Garros one year. I think she’s one of the players that is really exciting to watch and also has the potential to do big things on the surface of clay.’
A tennis couple looking to improve each other
It is so refreshing to see a tennis couple both seeking to better one another and making the effort not only to watch each other’s matches when possible but also scrutinise them too.
After all, this openness can only be healthy for such a hyper-specific relationship, in which both of them are part of the professional sporting world which most of us know little about.

Fans have always flocked to see these two shine together, but injuries and poor form have seen their respective progress limited.
However, with both now back fully fit and firing once again, it seems like together they are only set to continue pushing each other on to bigger and better things.
