Stefanos Tsitsipas is back in the winner’s circle after he got his hands on the Monte Carlo Masters title earlier today.

The best Greek player of all time has claimed his first title since 2022 when he won the very same tournament.

Tsitsipas appears to have a very strong clay-court game and Andy Roddick has raved about the player recently.

The Monte Carlo resident has claimed success in his ‘home’ tournament once again and all eyes will be on the 25-year-old at Roland Garros.

In 2021, Tsitsipas reached the final of the French Open but found Novak Djokovic in imperious form, falling at the final hurdle.

The player is desperate to get over the line when it comes to a Grand Slam title and perhaps the French Open is the one he fancies the most.

Tsitsipas defeated Casper Ruud in the final earlier today and in fairness, it proved to be a bit of a precession for the Greek performer.

He won 6-1, 6-4 to lift the trophy and now he’s alongside four other players in achieving a pretty awesome feat.

Stefanos Tsitsipas joins four other players to achieve one thing

The player is playing some incredible tennis at the moment and he will look back on this week as a memorable one.

Tsitsipas defeated Jannik Sinner in the semi-final and has also beaten Alexander Zverev on his way to the title.

Now, according to BBC Sport, Tsitsipas is one of just five players to ever win the Monte Carlo Masters on three occasions.

Only Rafael Nadal, Bjorn Borg, Thomas Muster and Ilie Nastase have won this title three times and this is a good achievement for Tsitsipas.

He won his other two titles back-to-back in 2021 and 2022 and this one made it a hat-trick of wins at the tournament that he clearly loves.

Can Tsitsipas break Grand Slam duck this year?

This is now the million-dollar question. Tsitsipas is far too good to not have won one but for whatever reason he’s just not done it at a major.

The player would surely relish another crack at a final and it’d be hard to back against him going deep at Roland Garros in a few weeks time.

Tstisipas has done really poorly at Wimbledon – with grass not really his favoured surface – and he’s not been past the third round in New York either.

As a result, if the Athens-born player is going to get a Grand Slam under his bet it looks likely to be on clay at the French Open.

After lifting this latest prize it will now be fascinating to see what the win does for his confidence going into the next major of the year.
