Coco Gauff impressed in 2025, winning her second Grand Slam title.

The American number one emerged victorious at the French Open, as Gauff defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final.

She also added another WTA 1000 title to her trophy cabinet, winning the Wuhan Open in October.

Those results propelled Gauff to a third consecutive top-three year-end ranking on the WTA Tour.

Many believe there’s still more to come from Gauff, though, including Serena Williams’ former coach Patrick Mouratoglou…

Patrick Mouratoglou wants Coco Gauff to win multiple Grand Slams in 2026

The French coach shared his thoughts about Gauff on Instagram.

“What I would love to see in 2026 is Coco Gauff winning another Grand Slam,” said Mouratoglou.

“She’s already won two; she’s extremely young still, and I feel she can start to do more.

“She can start to win two, three per year. That’s always been a goal for her, to really win a lot of Grand Slams.”

Mouratoglou believes Gauff can kick on to challenge for the world number one ranking if she makes a few improvements to her game.

“I think there are some areas in her game that need to progress. Her strengths need to be better,” he said.

“I know she’s working hard, so progress will be made.

“We want to see Coco compete to win those Grand Slams, and why not fight for the number one spot with Aryna [Sabalenka], fight with [Elena] Rybakina, with [Amanda] Anisimova, with [Iga] Swiatek.

“All those girls are close, of course, for the moment, Aryna is number one without any doubt, but I really feel that Coco has a place there.

“She has a spot, she has the level. There are a few things that need to be improved in her game.

“If she makes those improvements, she can win one or several Grand Slams next year.

Team Captain Michael Russell will rely on Gauff to pick up some big wins for the Americans, despite being the youngest player in the squad.

But who will Team USA play in the 2026 United Cup?

They’ve been placed in Group A, alongside Spain and Argentina.

The Americans, seeded 1st for the competition, are the heavy favorites to advance from their group, competing against the 10th-seeded Spain and the 14th-seeded Argentina.

Should they win their group as expected, Team USA would advance to play the best ‘Perth’ Runner-Up in the quarterfinals.

Groups A, C, and E will play their Group Stage games in Perth; therefore, the United States could play any of the following teams in the quarterfinals.

Gauff and Team USA won’t want to get ahead of themselves thinking about the quarterfinals just yet, however, as they first focus on the Group Stage.

Team USA will kick off their United Cup campaign against Argentina on Saturday, January 3.
