Emma Raducanu is enjoying a dream run at the Miami Open, with Jessica Pegula now up next in the quarter-finals.
The Briton has already played three Americans at the Miami Open, with Raducanu praising Emma Navarro after winning their second round match.
And Raducanu was happy with her focus against McCartney Kessler, who retired hurt from their third round meeting.
The former WTA number 10 then overcame Amanda Anisimova in the last 16, having beaten Japan’s Sayaka Ishii in round one.
Up next at the Miami Open for Raducanu is world number four Pegula, who is the last remaining American woman at the WTA 1000 event.

Serena Williams’ former coach says Emma Raducanu can return to WTA top 10
Ahead of the meeting, Serena Williams’ former coach Rick Macci has been sharing his verdict on the Briton, having been left impressed by her success in Miami so far.
“Emma never lost the talent,” Macci wrote on X about the one-time Grand Slam champion. “You never lose what got you there on the outside.
“Over coaching leads to overthinking and creates restrictive adaptations and can hurt players more than help and they think too much and put them in a mental vacuum. If Emma plays her authentic way top ten is back in play.”
What is the WTA ranking history of Emma Raducanu?
Raducanu cracked the WTA top 10 all the way back in July 2022, representing a career-high rank for the Briton.
But due to issues such as injuries and a lack of form, the 22-year-old has since fallen to 60th place in the world, recently dropping five spots.
She is, however, undoubtedly on the way back up, with no telling just how far Raducanu can go if she continues on her current trajectory.
The Briton may still be some way away from the form that helped her win the 2021 US Open, but smartly she won’t be thinking about that at this moment in time.
| Year | Top rank by year | Year-end ranking |
| 2025 | 55 | |
| 2024 | 54 | 58 |
| 2023 | 68 | 285 |
| 2022 | 10 | 75 |
| 2021 | 19 | 19 |
| 2020 | 333 | 343 |
| 2019 | 371 | 503 |
| 2018 | 572 | 692 |
Taking things one game and one tournament at a time should be the gameplan, with the Briton looking as relaxed as she has in some time on and indeed off the court.
The smile that fans have not seen for a long time is certainly back, with Raducanu now aiming for another huge shock when she takes on Pegula in Miami.

Macci also took to X with a prediction on Jakub Mensik, saying: “Top twenty is around the corner for Mensik.
“Highest-ranked teenager on tour at number 46. He does not get the hype, glitz and glamour but off both wings this kid is the real deal and can hammer.”
The 19-year-old is currently ranked 54th on the ATP Tour, having reached number 45 in the world last month.
And like Raducanu, Mensik is into the quarter-finals of the Miami Open, having beaten Indian Wells champion Jack Draper in round two.
