Sebastian Korda has been absent on the ATP Tour ever since his campaign at the Miami Open, where he earned the biggest win of his career.

Korda defeated then-world number one Carlos Alcaraz in the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 event, besting the Spaniard in three sets.

The American’s triumph came during a strong run of form on the tour, during which he clinched his third ATP title.

At the Delray Beach Open, Korda beat the likes of Casper Ruud, Flavio Cobolli and Tommy Paul en route to hoisting the ATP 250 trophy.

Since Miami, however, the world number 40 has not featured during the clay season, and has now withdrawn from another big event.

Sebastian Korda pulls out of the 2026 Italian Open

Korda withdrew from the first two clay-court Masters tournaments of the season in Monte-Carlo and Madrid.

Now, as per Spazio Tennis, Korda has made the decision to pull out of the 2026 edition of the Italian Open.

Having made the third round of the Italian Open last year, Korda was set to defend just 50 ATP points at the upcoming event.

Korda also failed to defend the 110 points he picked up in Monte-Carlo, Barcelona and Madrid in 2025.

He will hope to be back in time for the French Open, where he made the third round last year before falling to compatriot Frances Tiafoe.

Sebastian Korda’s best campaign at the French Open

Korda’s best result at a Grand Slam is a quarterfinal finish at the Australian Open, but his best run at Roland Garros was his very first.

In 2020, Korda made his main draw debut at Roland Garros after coming through qualifying, and earned a first-round win over Andreas Seppi.

He continued his maiden campaign in Paris by overcoming 21st seed and countryman John Isner, before beating Pedro Martinez in round three.

Unfortunately for Korda, his fourth round opponent came in the form of three-time defending champion, Rafael Nadal, who went on to secure a fourth consecutive Roland Garros title that year.

Nadal beat Korda fairly comfortably, triumphing in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, 6-2.
