Among the top performers in serve rating, as per ATP statistics, are the three very best on the planet, Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, who rank third, fifth and ninth on the tour, respectively.
The highest-ranked six players in the world are within the top ten best servers in men’s tennis, proving how important the shot is in today’s game.

Sam Querrey and John Isner discuss the worst server on the tour
One player who does not rank within the top 80 in serve rating is an American whom Sam Querrey thinks has the worst serve on tour.
In an episode of ‘Nothing Major’ the former Grand Slam semifinalist asked: “Do you want to start with the worst serve in the top 100?”
He said: “It’s our fellow American. Jenson Brooksby.”
John Isner added: “If he improves that serve because he has a lot of attributes apart from the serve!”
Former US stars name the players with the worst shots on tour
When discussing the player with the worst forehand on tour, Jack Sock suggested Benoit Paire, who is currently ranked 680th in the world.
For backhand, Isner picked co-host Steve Johnson, and Querrey named Laver Cup winner Reilly Opelka as the player with the worst volley.
Giovani Mpetshi-Perricard was picked for return, with Johnson stating: “He has diabolically bad statistics on return.”
Finally, for movement, Isner picked himself over Ivo Karlovic, saying: “I’m happy to take it.”
