Felix Auger-Aliassime has endured an inconsistent season, even if he’s making a genuine go of finishing 2025 with a flourish.
Auger-Aliassime is still in with a fighting chance of making the ATP Finals, but will need some strong showings at the remaining tournaments.
At the Shanghai Masters, Auger-Aliassime beat Lorenzo Musetti before losing to Arthur Rinderknech in the quarterfinal, which proved a somewhat frustrating defeat.
Musetti has confessed he’s worried about Auger-Aliassime in the quest for the ATP Finals, and now, he will hope to keep producing the goods ahead of the cut-off.
Auger-Aliassime was praised by Jimmy Connors after a remarkable run to the US Open semifinal, and the plaudits continue to be forthcoming for the talented Canadian.

Sam Querrey and John Isner hail ‘crazy good’ Auger-Aliassime shot
Auger-Aliassime is currently number 12 in the world, and there are signs that he can get back to number six, where he sat in 2022.
With some solid showings at Grand Slam events in his career, Auger-Aliassime has been catching the eye of former players Querrey and Isner.
They believe that his serve is extremely good, and although not underrated as such, they think it’s a very useful shot that he has within his arsenal.
Querrey said on the Nothing Major podcast: “He has got a massive serve. I hate to say it is underrated, because we know it’s a huge serve, but it’s definitely not talked about with the handful of the top few guys, but I think it’s in there.”
Isner agreed and believes he knows why it’s not talked about even more, saying: “It’s not talked about because sometimes he will double-fault in critical moments, so therefore you think his serve can break down, but his first serve and his first serve points won are crazy good.”
Where Felix Auger-Aliassime ranks in the serving stats on the ATP Tour
It’s fair to say that Auger-Aliassime is definitely up there when it comes to serving statistics.
His serve is pretty big, and right now he sits fourth in the charts for most aces, with 644 aces during 2025.
Perhaps, however, Isner does have a point, given that he’s also served 203 double faults this year, the seventh most on the ATP Tour for the calendar year.
| Felix Auger-Aliassime serving stats 2025 | Total |
| Aces | 644 |
| Double Faults | 203 |
| Average Aces per match | 10.6 |
| First Serve % | 76% |
This year can be a truly positive one for Auger-Aliassime, however, and he will be keen to get back involved with the ATP Finals.
The ball is now firmly in the court of Auger-Aliassime, and with a few tweaks, there is no reason why he can’t be a regular in the top 10 on a consistent basis.
