It’s quite remarkable just how fast the second week of Grand Slams sneaks up on you, but with how engaging Roland Garros has been, that should come as no surprise.
Having seen mass upsets, five-set thrillers and true dominance all in the space of one week, as we creep towards the much-anticipated finals, such drama is only bound to increase.
And so too will the quality, no doubt, as we hone in on the most in-form stars who seemingly have the confidence needed to go deep at this event.
We are blessed with another bumper today of action though, even if the fixture list has been dramatically condensed.
Key storylines to follow on day eight of Roland Garros 2024
As we enter the second week at a Grand Slam, it truly is anyone’s game on both sides.
And whilst many followers of the WTA, and Iga Swiątek might dispute that claim, Naomi Osaka proved that for all her magnificence, she can in fact be challenged.
So, the likes of Marketa Vondrousova. Coco Gauff and Ons Jabeur, the three seeded players all playing today, will have aspirations of toppling the reigning French Open champion.

However, the latter will face an in-form Olga Danilovic who has already brushed aside Donna Vekic and Danielle Collins.
Meanwhile, Matteo Arnaldi will seek to pose a threat to Stefanos Tsitsipas, who looks imperious on the dirt at the moment.
Felix Auger-Aliassime’s clash with Carlos Alcaraz, however, is unsurprisingly the standout, with the Spaniard seeking to add Roland Garros to his collection despite fears over his forearm injury in the run-up to the tournament.
