Roger Federer has touched down in Berlin for the 2024 Laver Cup, where Team Europe are looking to win back the title from Team World.
Team Europe won the first four editions of the Laver Cup, but Team World have now succeeded in the last two.
John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg are once again looking to lead their respective teams to glory, with the action set to get underway later this week.
Carlos Alcaraz is excited for the Laver Cup, with plenty of expectation set to be on the Spaniard thanks to his two major wins this year.
But his compatriot Rafael Nadal won’t be at the Laver Cup, with the former world number one’s injury-plagued season continuing.

Roger Federer makes Laver Cup ‘heavy favourites’ claim
Team Europe are, however, still in great shape thanks to the inclusion of the likes of Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev and Casper Ruud.
As per the Laver Cup website, tennis legend Federer has now made his predictions for the event in Berlin.
“I think that Team Europe is very strong this year, it’s stacked,” he said. “Altitude is low which is, in my mind, going to make the best players win.
“I think we are – I always talk as we, because I’m Europe – in the singles matches, heavy favorites even though I know that Team World has great players right now that are red hot and playing super well, I still think most of the matches in singles are going to go Team Europe’s way and then the doubles, I feel like most are going to go Team World’s way.”
Can Carlos Alcaraz help Team Europe win the Laver Cup?
Borg certainly has a big job on his hands in Germany, with McEnroe boasting the Laver Cup bragging rights of late.
But the Swede should be quietly confident about his team’s chances, even with Alcaraz struggling in recent tournaments.
The hosts should be able to learn a lot from Federer in the build-up to the event, with the Swiss icon having made four Laver Cup appearances.
And he boasts a superb 6-0 record from his singles matches, with his win-loss record dropping to 8-4 when factoring in his doubles history.
Federer was once the star of Team Europe, but that mantle has now fallen upon Alcaraz, who is more than capable of dealing with the pressure despite being just 21 years old.
