Richard Gasquet is set to become the latest star to hang up his racket, with the Frenchman set to retire in 2025.
Rafael Nadal will retire next month, with Dominic Thiem having retired last week after his Vienna Open exit.
Gasquet meanwhile bowed out of the opening round of the Paris Masters, with Zizou Bergs winning their round of 64 clash 6-3, 6-4.
The Frenchman is set to call it a day next year, but he still has grand plans to achieve more success on the court before then.
Aged 38, Gasquet boasts 16 ATP Tour-level titles, and once reached seventh place in the ATP Tour rankings.

As per Tennis Now, the Frenchman has now confirmed his upcoming tournament plans before retiring from tennis at the 2025 French Open.

“Montpellier, Marseille, I would like to play last time, because they are dear to my heart,” said Gasquet. “Monaco, as well. I’d like to play qualies in Monaco. A few challengers in France. And Roland Garros. There are beautiful tournaments to play ahead.”
French tennis in great shape despite Richard Gasquet retirement
Gasquet certainly deserves to fulfil his tournament goals, having given so much to the sport over the years.
The Frenchman has dropped to 133rd in the ATP rankings, having played very little tennis this season, but he has enjoyed a fantastic career.
Gasquet will undoubtedly get a very warm reception at the 2025 French Open, which as always will take place in Paris.

He will leave a huge gap in French tennis, but fortunately it seems that the likes of Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Arthur Fils and Ugo Humbert are more than ready to take over.
But Gasquet’s feats will be remembered for quite some time, with his 605 wins the most among Frenchmen in the Open Era, as per the ATP website.
