Rafael Nadal has elected to hang up his racket with one of the sport’s all-time greats confirming his retirement, so The Tennis Gazette has looked into his career earnings.

The Spaniard called time on his professional career on October 10, 2024 at 38 years old with Nadal retiring following two ‘especially’ difficult years with injuries. His final appearance on a court will be at the Davis Cup Finals in November 2024 as Nadal eyes his fifth title for Spain.

Nadal first achieved Davis Cup glory with his country as Spain won the annual competition in 2004, before lifting the title again in 2009, 2011 and 2019. The 2000s and early 2010s would be the peak of Nadal’s professional career after injuries started to ruin his ability to compete.

Few in tennis would match what Nadal brought to the court when at his physical best. Nadal was especially dominant at the French Open as the Mallorca native won 14 Grand Slam titles at Rolland Garros. He retires as the most successful player in the history of the French Open.

Nadal also enjoyed success in the other Grand Slam events on the ATP Tour. Wimbledon saw the Spaniard secure glory twice, the Australian Open relished Nadal’s skills for two titles and the US Open witnessed the left-handed superstar sweep four titles over an illustrious career.

So, with lots of success since making his professional debut at the Spain F10 Futures back in September 2001 against Guillermo Platel-Varas, Nadal has also earned a fortune. With that in mind, The Tennis Gazette has taken a look at the career earnings of tennis legend, Nadal.
