He came from behind to defeat Alexander Zverev 6-3 2-6 5-7 6-1 6-2 after four hours and 19 minutes to win the French Open for the first time in his career.
Alcaraz said his dream was to join the list of Spaniards who have triumphed at the clay court Grand Slam and he has certainly added to that legacy of 21 titles for the country.

He ran up to his box and celebrated with head coach and former Roland Garros winner Juan Carlos Ferrero after adding another trophy on his growing résumé.
Several players congratulated him on his latest achievement, including Nadal, who was beaten by Zverev in the opening round of the French Open.

Nadal played his first Grand Slam since the 2023 Australian Open when he took on Zverev at Roland Garros.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion has played just 11 matches this season in the leadup to his Grand Slam, and he was handed a nightmare draw against Zverev in round one.
The former World number one surprised many with his high level of performance, but ultimately his lack of matchplay impacted his ability to take advantage on big points.
Zverev, who won the Italian Open heading into Roland Garros, secured a 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 win to continue his campaign, while Nadal plans to return to Paris to compete in the Olympic Games at the end of July.
