Alexandra Eala enjoyed a fabulous season on the WTA Tour, ending 2025 with a career-high ranking of 50.
Eala particularly shone at Miami and Eastbourne, where she reached the semifinals and final of the two WTA events respectively.
At the former, the Filipina star knocked out the likes of Iga Swiatek and Madison Keys before falling to Jessica Pegula.
And another hugely impressive run was enjoyed at the latter, where Eala finished as runner-up to Maya Joint.

Eala started the year ranked 147th in the world, but is now among the top 50 players in the world, finishing 2025 with a 40-26 win-loss record.
Now analysing her efforts, the 20-year-old star told Vogue: “I’m so proud of myself and what I’ve accomplished.
“I’m [also] proud and grateful [to] the team and all the effort that they’ve put in. I’m just happy that, you know, they see results and that I can share this happiness with them also.
“Tennis is such a beautiful sport because it really keeps you grounded. You lose, you really learn to lose, because you lose almost every week.
“And that’s what I’ve learned: there’s always going to be someone better than you. And what I try to do is just be the best version of myself.”

Along with her superb runs in Miami and Eastbourne, Eala also claimed her first career title in Guadalajara.
Moreover, she became the first Filipina to break into the top 100, before achieving the same feat regarding the top 50.

The future is certainly looking bright for Eala, who can definitely become a lot better given that she is still only 20 years old.
Perhaps such promise was always on the cards for the youngster, who is a product of the Rafael Nadal Academy in Mallorca.

The ATP legend has been keeping a close eye on the rising star, having reacted to her heartbreaking third-set tiebreak Eastbourne final loss.
Nadal backed Eala for many more finals after the defeat, which is certainly high praise indeed from the 22-time Grand Slam champion.
