Patrick Mouratoglou could be targeting Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner to play on his UTS Tour in the future.

Mouratoglou co-founded the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) Tour in 2020, which has a different scoring format and rules compared to the normal tour.

The UTS Tour has attracted many top players since it was founded, including Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur and Felix Auger-Aliassime, with the latter winning the most recent event in Nimes.

Two players that are yet to play on the UTS Tour are Alcaraz and Sinner, but Mouratoglou is hoping to change that.

Patrick Mouratoglou says it is his ‘dream’ to have Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner playing on the UTS Tour

At the most recent UTS event in Nimes, Mouratoglou spoke to Spazio Tennis, where he was asked about the possibility of Alcaraz and Sinner playing in the future.

Mouratoglou revealed that it is a dream of his to have both players on the tour, but he admitted the potential financial challenges he could face in doing so.

“It’s my dream to have Carlos and Jannik participate,” said Mouratoglou.

“I understand that when they play tournaments that are not ATP Tour tournaments their financial expectations are super high, because that’s their value and I don’t discuss it.

“I hope one day the conditions will make them feel like, ‘Oh, I would like to play it, it looks really cool, fun and I am also happy to play some real matches before that tournament’. Maybe one day I’ll have them and I really hope I will.”

Who is playing at the next UTS Tour event?

There are nearly three months until the next UTS Tour event, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

This is the first time that the UTS Tour has gone to South America, and four players have already been announced.

Included in the announced names for the event so far is Nick Kyrgios, who has not played a tennis match since his first round doubles defeat at the Australian Open.
