While the ATP Tour saw just two players dominate at majors this year, the Grand Slam season on the women’s side featured four different winners.
Madison Keys won her first major at the Australian Open back in January, defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the final to cap off an incredible campaign.
Her American compatriot, Coco Gauff, followed suit at Roland Garros, where she clinched her second Grand Slam trophy, having also beaten Sabalenka in the title bout.
Iga Swiatek became the first Pole in history to win a Wimbledon singles title when she cruised past Amanda Anisimova in the championship match at the All England Club with a double bagel.

Anisimova made the final again at the US Open, but was denied by Sabalenka, with the Belarusian finally getting her hands on a major in 2025.
The four women’s Grand Slam finals all made for great viewing, but Naomi Osaka’s former coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, thinks there was one that stands out.

In a post on Instagram, Mouratoglou said: “The two finals at Roland Garros this year were the best of all the tournaments, for sure.
“That’s what we like in tennis. The first set was over-dominated by Aryna. You watched the first set, and you think she is going to win in straight sets, easily.
“Slowly, because of Coco’s incredible mindset and incredible defensive skills, she was able to slowly come back and start to make Aryna overthink.
“This is what happens in tennis. You have to have a little something in the head, a little piece of sand.
“It grows, it grows, and at the end, you are a million miles away from the level you were playing in the first set.
“That’s what happened to Aryna, but I think emotionally, in terms of storytelling, in terms of suspense, the match was unbelievable.”

The Frenchman continued: “Now I go to the men’s side. I rate the final between Alcaraz and Sinner at Roland Garros in the top five finals of Grand Slams of all time.
“Because you had all the ingredients. You had first, of course, the tennis level. The players played five hours and a half, and five hours and a half of unbelievable tennis.
“We had everything that was possible on a tennis court kept on such a long period of time. It’s something really impressive.

“Then you had, of course, the suspense of the match because it went from one side to the other to the other to the other.
“Until the very end, you had no idea who would win, and you know, it just all happened on one point to make the decision coming to Carlos Alcaraz.
“So I think this match, if I had to remember one match from last year, it would be the match.”
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner in an enthralling five-setter to claim his fifth Grand Slam title.
