Whilst Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are deservedly celebrated for their achievements within the sport, many are already looking to who might emerge to challenge them in the coming years.

After all, whilst they are rewriting history and entertaining fans, they have now shared the latest nine Grand Slam titles between them.

Many herald them for filling the void straight after the Big Three began to decline, whilst others argue their dominance has removed any semblance of competition from any event they enter.

Fortunately, Pat Cash is backing one star to soon rise up and fight against this overwhelming duopoly.

Pat Cash backs Jack Draper to challenge Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner

Speaking to Tennis365, he shared his pick for who can challenge Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner in the months and years to come.

The Aussie claimed: “It’s clear that Alcaraz and Sinner are ahead of the rest by a good way, but Jack Draper is the player I believe can trouble them.

Who will join Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner in a new ‘big three’?

“He’s got that big leftie serve, a massive forehand and a good all-round game. You could see how it was all coming together for him before he got the arm injury, which was a real shame.

“If he can keep himself on the court for long enough, I really feel like Draper could be the player to challenge Alcaraz and Sinner.”

With Draper having made his return to tennis earlier this week and admitted he feels better than ever, perhaps Cash’s prediction could come true far sooner than expected.

Jack Draper’s head-to-head records against Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner

What makes Alcaraz and Sinner so much better than everyone else is the fact that, other than each other, nobody can challenge them.

Novak Djokovic has tried his best and claimed scalps over both superstars in recent years.

What does Jack Draper need to change about his career to keep fit?

However, others like Ben Shelton, Alex de Minaur and Alexander Zverev seem incapable of actually threatening them on the biggest stages.

That is why we so often see them meet in the final.

Jack Draper, however, actually boasts quite a favourable head-to-head record against both players, having lost just once to Sinner of their two career meetings, and twice to Alcaraz in their four matches played.

He beat the Spaniard most recently at Indian Wells last year on his way to the title.
