Following the announcement of WTA Tour’s rebrand, they have made a very important announcement.
On Thursday the PIF and the WTA announced that players who give birth will receive paid maternity leave for up to 12 months.
Jabeur heard the groundbreaking news and wishes that one day she is able to have a child and return to action, while benefiting from this program.
“I’m just hoping the sponsors will follow,” the three-time Grand Slam runner-up told BBC Sport Africa.
“Because when you get pregnant you don’t get paid. It is very important to keep evolving in that and I’m sure it will happen one day.”

Jabeur returned to action following a shoulder injury at the start of 2025.
The World number 32 has claimed 12 wins so far and her best results are quarter-final appearances in Brisbane and Abu Dhabi.

At Indian Wells Jabeur is the final seeded player in the draw and will commence her campaign against Dayana Yastremska, who she will play for the first time.
