Ons Jabeur has been inactive on the WTA Tour since the 2025 Wimbledon championships, having been pregnant with her first child.
The former world number two stepped away from tennis after her campaign at the All England Club last year, explaining she had not been happy on court ‘for some time’.
Months later, in November, Jabeur announced she was pregnant and has since been out of action.

She also gave an indication as to how much longer she plans to play professional tennis for.

Ons Jabeur says she wants to compete for a ‘couple’ more years
Discussing her plans to return to tennis after her pregnancy, Jabeur said: “I want to give myself the time to see how my body will react. I don’t want to rush into it.
“But I definitely would want to go back on tour and compete for a couple of more years.
“I always knew that tennis is important, but not the most important thing in life.
You can bring one tennis legend out of retirement. Who do you pick and why?
“He comes from two athlete parents [Kamoun is a former fencer], so he doesn’t have a choice in that,” said Jabeur, jokingly, of her soon-to-be-born first child.
“I always say my game reflects my character. That’s who I am. Being a kid is fun, and I want our son to have that. I want him to be creative, to make jokes.
“Most important is that he’s a good person and makes a change in the world.”

Ons Jabeur’s record in Grand Slam finals
Jabeur, now 31 years old, has won five titles during her career, but she has never captured a Grand Slam, despite coming agonisingly close on a number of occasions.
She reached her first major final at Wimbledon in 2022 with a remarkable run, but ultimately fell at the last hurdle to Elena Rybakina.
At the US Open later that year, Jabeur made another major final, but lost this time to Iga Swiatek.
Jabeur’s last appearance in a Grand Slam final was at Wimbledon again in 2023, which she reached by earning revenge against Rybakina in the quarterfinals.
However, the sixth seed was handed another defeat by Marketa Vondrousova, losing in straight sets.
