Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have gone down in tennis history, with the Serbian still playing at the highest level.
Djokovic still enjoys competing, and is currently chasing a record 25th career Grand Slam title at the US Open.
The former ATP number one is the seventh seed in New York this year, and now meets fourth seed Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals.
Djokovic has dropped just two sets from his four US Open matches so far, knocking out Learner Tien, Zachary Svajda, Cam Norrie and Jan-Lennard Struff.
His fellow legends Federer and Nadal meanwhile have retired from the sport, calling time on their phenomenal careers in 2022 and 2024 respectively.

The question Novak Djokovic would love to ask Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal
But they have now been referenced at the US Open, with Djokovic having been reminded ahead of his next match that he spoke in London of the trio getting together at some point.
When asked what question he would ask his former rivals in such a scenario, the Serbian replied: “A lot of questions. I’ll probably start with, how did they approach matches against me?

“What did they feel like they needed to do to win? Where was I annoying? And just how would they train? How would they mentally prepare?
“Like all this, I’d love to pick their brains on that. I mean, that would be amazing. But let’s see if it happens.”
Novak Djokovic vs Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal Grand Slam titles
Djokovic boasts a stunning 24 Grand Slam titles, with just one more needed to move past Margaret Court at the very top of the all-time list.
Whether that next success arrives at the US Open this year remains to be seen, but the veteran has looked very impressive thus far.
| Titles | Player | Australian Open | French Open | Wimbledon | US Open | Years |
| 24 | Novak Djokovic | 10 | 3 | 7 | 4 | 2008–2023 |
| 22 | Rafael Nadal | 2 | 14 | 2 | 4 | 2005–2022 |
| 20 | Roger Federer | 6 | 1 | 8 | 5 | 2003–2018 |
But age is undoubtedly catching up with the 38-year-old, who last tasted Grand Slam success in New York in 2023.
Since then, however, Djokovic has managed to win an Olympic gold medal and has lost a Wimbledon final.
But Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are very much now the dominant forces in men’s tennis, winning seven of the last eight Grand Slam titles.
They do, however, have a long, long way to go to truly emulate the stunning efforts of Djokovic, Federer and Nadal in that record.
