Novak Djokovic has followed up his Paris Masters withdrawal by withdrawing from the ATP Finals in Turin.

Djokovic withdrew from the Paris Masters last week, with world number one Jannik Sinner also deciding to skip the Masters 1000 event due to illness.

The Serbian would have still been eyeing a spot in the ATP Finals next week, but he has now decided not to take part.

Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz were among the early group to qualify for the year-end event, with the duo then joined by Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev and Taylor Fritz.

The best-eight performing ATP Tour players throughout 2024 will compete in the indoor hard-court event in Italy.

But 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic will not be among them, with the Serbian issuing the confirmation on his Instagram story.

“It’s quite an honour to qualify for the ATP Finals in Turin,” he wrote. “I was really looking forward to being there, but due to ongoing injury I won’t be playing next week.

“Apologies to those who were planning to see me. Wishing all the players a great tournament. See you soon!”

What is Novak Djokovic’s record at the ATP Finals?

With seven ATP Finals titles, Djokovic sits at the very top of the leaderboard, closely followed by the six of Roger Federer.

The Serbian won his first title back in 2008, before clinching four successive titles between 2012 and 2015.

And after a trophy drought, Djokovic returned to winning ways at the ATP Finals in 2022, before defending his title last year.

But no such defence is on the cards this time around, with the 37-year-old clearly nowhere near full fitness.

Djokovic did, of course, undergo knee surgery earlier this year, with the veteran limited to just 46 tour-level matches this season.
