Novak Djokovic is currently preparing for yet another season on the ATP Tour, with the 2026 Australian Open on the horizon.

Djokovic has 10 Australian Open titles to his name, taking his tally into double figures with his 2023 success.

He’s well ahead of any other male player in Melbourne, with Roger Federer and Roy Emerson his closest rivals on six.

Djokovic won his first-ever Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, defeating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the 2008 final.

Novak Djokovic to match Roger Federer record at the Australian Open

Fast-forward to the 2026 season, and former ATP number one Djokovic is now set to make a stunning 81st appearance at a Grand Slam.

As per OptaAce, that will see him equal Roger Federer and Feliciano Lopez for the most appearances in Men’s Singles Grand Slams during the Open Era.

Federer clinched 20 Grand Slam titles during his phenomenal career, while Lopez claimed his only title in doubles at the 2016 French Open.

The more important record Novak Djokovic will want to break at the Australian Open

While Djokovic will be glad to match his former rival Federer in terms of Grand Slam appearances, it certainly won’t be the main record on his mind.

That most likely involves Margaret Court, who is currently tied with the Serbian for the most Grand Slam titles of all-time.

Both players currently sit on 24 titles each, with Court incidentally clinching 11 of hers at the Australian Open.

Who is the greatest male tennis player of all time?

The only one of the two still playing, Djokovic really could cement his status as the greatest player of all time should he finally move to number 25 in Melbourne.

His 2025 Grand Slam season proves he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level, with Djokovic reaching all four semifinals.

He did, however, fall at that stage every time, with the veteran clearly having an issue against superstar Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
