Novak Djokovic has been chasing plenty of records at the 2025 Australian Open, with the biggest involving a 25th Grand Slam title.

Former ATP number one Djokovic is level on 24 Grand Slam titles with Margaret Court, but now has the chance to take the lead at the Australian Open.

Alexander Zverev says Djokovic is the greatest player right now, with the pair set to meet in the semi-final in Melbourne after the latter edged past Carlos Alcaraz.

Djokovic considered retiring hurt against Alcaraz, but pulled through to secure a fantastic 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 win.

The Serbian legend is also chasing a 100th ATP Tour-level title at the Australian Open, and indeed a record-extending 11th victory at the Grand Slam.

Novak Djokovic becomes first man to reach 50 Grand Slam semi-finals

But he has just achieved two phenomenal milestones with his win over Alcaraz, with Djokovic becoming the first man in the Open Era to reach a 50th Grand Slam singles semi-final, and the second player after Chris Evert, who reached 52, as per OptaAce.

Moreover, the Serbian now has a 91.7% winning percentage at the Australian Open after his victory over the Spaniard.

As per OptaAce, the figure is level with Jimmy Connors for the highest men’s singles winning percentage at the event in the Open Era, with a minimum of 10 matches played.

What Grand Slam semi-finals has Novak Djokovic reached?

Plenty of Djokovic doubters did emerge before the match with Alcaraz and indeed before the Australian Open began.

And that was perhaps understandable given that he failed to win a Grand Slam title in 2024, with a second-successive Wimbledon final loss to Alcaraz among his shortcomings.

Moreover, the 37-year-old icon was taking on a 21-year-old star who won two Grand Slam titles last time out.

But the veteran used all of his experience and indeed relied upon another legend in Andy Murray to come out on top.

He also continued his 100% record against the Spaniard on hard courts, once more proving his worth and durability on the surface.

Starting all the way back in 2008, Djokovic boasts 10 Australian Open titles, along with seven at Wimbledon, four at the US Open and three at the French Open.
