Novak Djokovic is showing no signs of slowing down at 38, and is now through to his 64th Grand Slam quarterfinal.

The Serb triumphed over Jan-Lennard Struff in the fourth round, winning 6-3, 6-3, 6-2 in the night session at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Currently tied with Margaret Court on 24, he is now just three wins away from becoming the outright leader for the most major titles of any man or woman in history.

Djokovic will now face Taylor Fritz in the last eight, in a match that will see him surpass Roger Federer‘s record at Flushing Meadows.

Novak Djokovic surpasses Roger Federer at the US Open

With his victory over Struff, Djokovic has now made it to his 14th men’s singles quarterfinal at the US Open.

He has surpassed both Federer and Andre Agassi‘s totals of 13, and trails the Open Era leader, Jimmy Connors, by just three.

His tally dates back to 2007, when he made the quarterfinals in New York for the first time before going on to finish as the runner-up.

Since then, he has only failed to reach the stage on three occasions, bowing out in the fourth round in 2019 and 2020, and in the third round last season.

Novak Djokovic set to climb the rankings with US Open wins

Though rankings are not a priority for Djokovic at this point in his career, he will be pleased to see an increase in points following the conclusion of the US Open.

After his third-round finish at the tournament in 2024, he will now gain at least 300 ATP points for advancing two rounds further in 2025.

In the live rankings, he has jumped from number seven to fifth in the world, with a current total of 4430 points.

He overtakes Jack Draper and Ben Shelton, both of whom saw their campaigns come to an end due to injury.
