An incredible statistic further illustrates just how dominant Novak Djokovic has been at the Grand Slams.
The Serbian usually saves his best tennis for the sport’s four most prestigious and important tournaments and defeating him in a best of five set match has become arguably the game’s toughest challenge.
Since the beginning of the decade the 37-year-old has won eight Grand Slams and holds the record for the most majors held by a male player with 24.
He won three of the four Grand Slams in 2023 and reached the final of the other, and he achieved that by striking an astonishing amount of winners.
Novak Djokovic’s Grand Slam statistic typifies his dominance
In 2023, Djokovic claimed three of the year’s four Grand Slams for the fourth time in his illustrious career. He also achieved the feat in 2011, 2015 and 2021.
Since the beginning of last season, the World Number One has upped his aggression at the majors, as his 1248 winners illustrates.
According to OptaAce, this number is significantly higher than any other player on the ATP tour, as Stefanos Tsitsipas sits second to the list with 972. This is impressive from the Greek player despite reaching just one final and failing to pass the quarters at the other Slams last season.
Despite never going beyond the last eight of a major, Andrey Rublev is third with 963 winners, while Alexander Zverev is fourth with 918.
Carlos Alcaraz, who defeated Djokovic in the 2023 Wimbledon final, completes the top five with 890 winners to his name.

What is Novak Djokovic’s Grand Slam record?
Djokovic has 24 majors on his impressive résumé, level with Margaret Court for the most of all time for any player male or female.
He has played in 36 Grand Slam finals in his career and lost 12, none of which have come at the Australian Open. Djokovic has competed in 10 finals at Melbourne Park and has yet to lose.
Seven of his major titles have come on the grass at Wimbledon, while four have come in New York at the US Open.
Despite Rafael Nadal’s domination at Roland Garros, Djokovic has triumphed on three occasions in France, including in 2021 when he defeated the Spaniard on the way to winning the trophy.
