The Serb was tested in his opening match against world number 102 Wu Yibing, having dropped a set to the Chinese star before triumphing in four.

Djokovic earned a more straightforward victory in the second round, beating two-time Grand Slam finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets.

Novak Djokovic’s record against Arthur Rinderknech

Djokovic has never faced Rinderknech at an ATP Tour-level competition before, with the two set to have their maiden clash at Wimbledon.

Rinderknech, aged 30, started his Wimbledon run with a difficult four-set win over British home hope Oliver Tarvet.

The Frenchman then beat Martin Damm Jr in straight sets to advance to the third round.

Rinderknech’s best result at Wimbledon was a third-round finish, which he achieved at last year’s edition.

His best finish at a major overall is the fourth round, a feat he managed at the 2025 US Open.
