Novak Djokovic has just been drawn on the same side in the Wimbledon 2025 men’s singles as Jannik Sinner. Here are his and Carlos Alcaraz’s potential routes to the final.
The All England Lawn Tennis Club held the draw for the first round of the 2025 men’s singles competition at Wimbledon on Friday, June 27. Play will begin on Monday 30 in SW19, where Alcaraz won his second Wimbledon title in 2024 as the Spaniard retained his title from 2023.
A third consecutive success in south west London in 2025 would make Alcaraz the first male player to win Wimbledon three times on the spin since Djokovic achieved the feat between 2019 and 2022. The 22-year-old would also be the seventh player with three Open Era titles.

Novak Djokovic’s possible path to the 2025 Wimbledon final
Djokovic regaining the men’s singles crown from Alcaraz at Wimbledon in 2025 would make the 38-year-old the joint-most successful player in the tournament’s history, as well. The Serbian trails Roger Federer, who won Wimbledon a record eight times during the Open Era.

A date with the number one seed, Sinner, could await Djokovic in the semi-finals through his route to the 2025 Wimbledon men’s singles final, though. The ATP Tour world #1 and #6 will both feature in the first half of the draw, while #2 seed and world #2 Alcaraz is in the other.
Djokovic will start his pursuit of a record-equalling eighth Wimbledon title against Alexandre Muller, while Sinner will start his bid for a first Wimbledon final – let alone the title – against Luca Nardi. Djokovic beat Sinner in the Italian’s best Wimbledon run in the 2023 semi-finals.
| ROUND | OPPONENT |
| Round 1 | A Muller |
| Round 2 | D Evans or J Clarke |
| Round 3 | A Michelsen, M Kecmanovic or C Eubanks |
| Round 4 | A De Minaur or T Machac |
| Quarter-final | J Draper, J Mensik or A Bublik |
| Semi-final | J Sinner or L Musetti |
| Final | C Alcaraz, T Fritz or A Zverev |
Djokovic will likely have to beat one of the home favourites, Dan Evans and Jack Draper, plus Alex de Minaur of Australia to reach the Wimbledon final in 2025, as well. Alcaraz will then hope to take Djokovic on in a third straight Wimbledon final after meeting in 2023 and 2024.
Carlos Alcaraz’s possible path to the 2025 Wimbledon final

Alcaraz ended Djokovic’s run of success in SW19 with a 1-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 win in the 2023 Wimbledon men’s singles final. The Villena native also then doubled up on his titles in south west London with a 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) win over the Serbian in the 2024 men’s final.
Fabio Fognini will now await the double defending Wimbledon champion following the first round draw for the 2025 edition and 138th running of the tournament. A Round 4 date with Andrey Rublev or Stefanos Tsitsipas may also await, before Holger Rune in the quarter-finals.
| ROUND | OPPONENT |
| Round 1 | F Fognini |
| Round 2 | O Tarvet or L Riedi |
| Round 3 | F Auger-Aliassime |
| Round 4 | A Rublev or S Tsitsipas |
| Quarter-final | H Rune or J Lehecka |
| Semi-final | T Fritz, A Zverev, D Medvedev or K Khachanov |
| Final | N Djokovic, J Sinner or J Draper |
The semi-finals at Wimbledon in 2025 are bound to hand Alcaraz a test before any potential repeat of the past two finals against Djokovic, or a match with Sinner. Taylor Fritz, Alexander Zverev or Daniil Medvedev could await Alcaraz in the penultimate round of the tournament.
