Nick Kyrgios shared his thoughts on Novak Djokovic’s explosive post-match interview after reaching the Wimbledon quarter-finals.
The 37-year-old produced his best performance of the tournament so far as he dispatched Holger Rune for the loss of just nine games.
The Serbian was even determined to claim the win after some fans made it known that they wanted the Dane to emerge victorious.
He made his thoughts abundantly clear during his frosty post-match interview which evoked a mixed reaction from the crowd.
What did Nick Kyrgios say about Novak Djokovic‘s controversial comments?
Kyrgios is no stranger to speaking his mind and he heard everything Djokovic had to say after defeating Rune on Centre Court at Wimbledon.
He expressed his anger towards members of the crowd who were supporting the Dane during the match in an explosive post-match interview, claiming he felt disrespected by some spectators.
Kyrios, who has previously mentioned how negative reactions from the audience only fuels Djokovic, reiterated his stance on Monday evening.
“It wasn’t but I think crowds all around the world need to understand that Novak doesn’t need more of a motive to play well,” he told the BBC.
“He is driven and is one of the best players in the world and I have seen it time and time again that the crowd try and poke the bear and that’s not what you want to do against Novak.
“He started playing some amazing tennis and some people say that was his first test, he answered all those questions.”

Who will Novak Djokovic play in the Wimbledon quarter-finals?
After claiming his fourth victory over Rune, Djokovic will face Alex de Minaur with a spot in the Wimbledon semi-finals on the line. This will be the pair’s fourth meeting and their third of the 2024 season.
The Australian will be aiming to beat the World number two for the second time after defeating him in the United Cup while representing his country.
Djokovic’s wins over De Minaur came at the 2023 Australian Open in a routine round four win and in April’s Monte Carlo quarter-finals.
Wednesday’s fourth-round encounter will be their first on grass and the ninth seed will be aiming to continue what is his best ever run at SW19.
