Nick Kyrgios is a man who is never backwards in coming forward when it comes to tennis-related matters.
Kyrgios has been struggling with a wrist injury for a number of years now, and his comeback at the Australian Open in January was short-lived.
Kyrgios has already mentioned potentially going into coaching when he decides to pack his rackets away for the final time, and it will be interesting to see what the future holds.
Playing tennis doesn’t look like happening in the future for Kyrgios, and as a result, he’s kept himself busy by weighing in on an argument between Zizou Bergs and Reilly Opelka.

It would appear there is no love lost between Opelka and Bergs, and there has been a spat between the two players on Instagram.
Bergs takes on Jannik Sinner later today after beating Alex Michelsen and doing the moonwalk earlier this week in the first round of the competition.
Opelka was a lucky loser for the Paris Masters, and his participation is already over after he was beaten by Corentin Moutet in three sets.
Afterwards, some comments were made on social media, with Opelka saying to Bergs: “I’d rather lose 6-2 in the third than win 6-2 in the third and moonwalk.”
Bergs took offence to that and responded with: “I rather play than not play in Q’s”, alluding to the fact that Opelka was forced to play in the qualifiers for the event.
Naturally, Kyrgios then decided to get involved with the topic of discussion and thinks Opelka deserves more respect from Bergs.
He posted on X: “Weak a*s response. Opelka has made finals of master events – before wrist surgery was going deep pretty much all the time. Real ones know.”
Kyrgios could make announcement ahead of 2026
Kyrgios was able to play in events at the start of 2025 based on a protected ranking, but that won’t be the case in 2026, with a decision now needing to be made.
The Australian reached the Wimbledon final in 2022 and but for a rampant Novak Djokovic, he might have managed to get over the line to win a Grand Slam title.
Kyrgios has had awful luck with injuries and it will be interesting to see where his head is at when it comes to playing tennis in the future.
The game needs characters – and much like Opelka – Kyrgios would be a welcome character to the ATP Tour if he does decide to keep playing a little while longer.
Kyrgios has a large fan base and now it remains to be seen what will come for the player in the future and whether he can shake off his troublesome injury issues.
