Nick Kyrgios has made a claim about both Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic when it comes to choosing the greatest ever player.

Both players are certainly in the mix to claim such an accolade.

Federer won 20 Grand Slam titles in total, with Djokovic on 24 and still working hard to win them at 37-years-old.

The Serbian is still in the French Open currently taking place at Roland Garros and he could reach 25 next week.

Now, Kyrgios has been discussing who he thinks is the best and he’s delivered an intriguing verdict on the two.

Nick Kyrgios delivers Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic verdict

Ultimately, the greatest ever debate can be taken into consideration using a number of factors.

Although the number of titles will clearly be taken into consideration, it shouldn’t be the only metric.

Sport is about entertainment too and as a result every tennis fan will have their opinion on who is the best player ever.

Now, Kyrgios has been speaking on the Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios podcast and he’s given his verdict.

He said: “I’ve got my opinion, I think it’s Roger Federer by far.

“I don’t think we’ll ever see someone as naturally gifted as him.

“If we’re talking about the greatest, I think that’s Novak, but most talented? I’d say, Roger.”

Kyrgios makes great points on Federer and Djokovic

In fairness, the injured Australian player is hard to disagree with on this.

He’s always going to name Djokovic in the mix as there is a clear bromance since the two played in the Wimbledon final.

However, Federer was just majestic to watch and he would have claimed many more Grand Slam titles had Rafael Nadal not been around.

Nothing against Djokovic but he’s won a lot of his major titles since Federer called time on his career and injures started to take over Nadal.

We find it hard to disagree with Kyrgios here but when it came to pure box office, Federer is the greatest ever in our view.
