Nick Kyrgios has been rumoured to play at the French Open this month, potentially returning to the tournament for the first time in eight years.
The former Wimbledon finalist has only played in four tournaments in 2025, suffering from a continuous wrist injury that has also disrupted him over the last two years.
He has also only made it out of the first round of a tournament once this year, the sole victory coming at the Miami Open, where Kyrgios defeated Mackenzie McDonald.
With the second Grand Slam of the season on the horizon, however, Kyrgios has taken to social media to confirm whether he intends to play at Roland Garros or not.

Nick Kyrgios confirms he will play at Roland Garros, as well as Wimbledon and the US Open this year
In April, Kyrgios announced his intention to return to Roland Garros on social media; this second comment therefore seems to reinforce the Australian’s original intention.
Responding to a comment on a recent Instagram post that asked: “So no ATP Tour anymore?”, Kyrgios gave a straightforward answer.
The former world number 13 said: “Yes bro, I’m playing French Open and the Grand Slams, I’m just able to do both,” referring to his live tour he recently released dates for.
He added: “I still play, I know it’s rare for tennis players to do anything else but tennis.”
Before his first-round exit at the Australian Open this year, Kyrgios’ last appearance at a Slam came in 2022 at the US Open, where he lost to Karen Khachanov in the quarter-finals.

Nick Kyrgios’ poor record at the French Open over the years
Kyrgios has always struggled at clay tournaments throughout his career, and it’s been no different at the biggest clay event on the calendar.
He has appeared at the French Open just five times in his career, and has not made it past the third round in any attempt.
| Year | Result |
|---|---|
| 2013 | Second Round |
| 2014 | First Round |
| 2015 | Third Round |
| 2016 | Third Round |
| 2017 | Second Round |
In his Roland Garros debut, the big server made it to the second round as an 18-year-old, upsetting former world number eight Radek Stepanek along the way.
After a first-round exit in 2014, Kyrgios had back-to-back third-round results in the following years, bowing out to Andy Murray and Richard Gasquet in 2015 and 2016, respectively.
His last appearance at Roland Garros was a second-round loss against Kevin Anderson.
Kyrgios has made the quarter-final stage in each of the three other Grand Slams, and will hope to match that in his French Open campaign this year.
