Osaka withdrew from the Australian Open with an abdominal injury, forfeiting her match against Maddison Inglis.
That arrived after the former WTA number one knocked out Antonia Ruzic and Sorana Cirstea in rounds one and two of the Australian Open respectively.
Both of those matches involving four-time Grand Slam champion Osaka went to three sets at the hard-court event in Melbourne.

Marta Kostyuk withdraws from the Qatar Open
Osaka has been joined in her Qatar Open withdrawal by Marta Kostyuk, who also suffered injury in Melbourne.
World number 20 Kostyuk tore an ankle ligament in her first round clash with Elsa Jacquemot, which she lost in three sets.
The injury forced her out of the doubles draw, with Kostyuk having been in top form going into the Australian Open.

Kostyuk lost the Brisbane final to Sabalenka, reaching that stage after wins against Amanda Anisimova, Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva.
The replacements for Kostyuk and Osaka at the Qatar Open have already been confirmed, with Wang Xinyu and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova entering the main draw.
