Monte Carlo Masters predictions
George Patten: The first two Masters 1000 tournaments of the year in Indian Wells and Miami proved the ATP Tour is as unpredictable as ever. Now moving onto the clay, it’s perhaps even more difficult to predict who will win in Monte Carlo. The top three seeds will, of course, be dangerous but neither Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, nor Novak Djokovic are heading into the tournament at 100%. With that being said, Stefanos Tsitsipas may be the safest bet, having won the title in three of the last four years.
Matthew Johns: This may be a bold prediction, but I am going with Holger Rune to win the Monte Carlo title. He showed his potential at Indian Wells last month and is even more comfortable on his favourite clay courts. Rune reached the final in Monte Carlo two years ago and will be hungry to go one better in 2025.
Peter Lynch: Carlos Alcaraz and Stefanos Tsitsipas are machines on clay, but I still think Casper Ruud is the man to beat on the surface in Monaco this year. He could really do with a win at this stage of the season and should be motivated to go deep in Monte Carlo.
Lee Clarke: Stefanos Tsitsipas has an unreal record in Monte Carlo, but I just don’t fancy him here. Let’s go for Carlos Alcaraz to get one under his belt. After all, you know what they say: Form is temporary, class is permanent.
