Mirra Andreeva has reached the fourth round at Wimbledon for the second time in her career, following her victory over Hailey Baptiste.
Andreeva overcame Baptiste in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, to become the youngest woman since Caroline Wozniacki to earn 10 or more singles wins at Grand Slams in a calendar year.
Before her run in SW19 this year, she made it to round four at the Australian Open and the quarter-finals at Roland Garros.
The 18-year-old’s triumph marks her best finish at Wimbledon since debuting at the tournament in 2023, where she bowed out in the fourth round to Madison Keys.
After the match, Andreeva was asked in her post-match press conference who she thinks has the greatest insight and knowledge of the game, to which she gave an interesting answer.

Mirra Andreeva says who she thinks has the greatest tennis knowledge
Andreeva responded: “Obviously, I have to say Roger [Federer]. I felt like every time I watched him, he just knew what to do at every score, in every situation that’s going on the court.
“He was handling the pressure moments, he was facing break points… when he was down in the score, his face didn’t change. Never. I felt like this was super hard to play against.
“When you see that you’re winning and everything is going your way, and you look at your opponent and it’s like nothing happened, he’s just continuing playing the same way and raising his level.
“I felt like this could be a really, really hard opponent to face. From current players, I think Aryna [Sabalenka], Coco [Gauff], and Iga [Swiatek], almost all the top women players have the same mentality and the same kind of way to present themselves on court.
“A lot of top players have that now. That’s why it’s tough to beat them. I feel like every time I play someone in the top 10 or 20, it’s getting harder. Their mindset is different.”
Mirra Andreeva’s fourth-round opponent at Wimbledon
In the fourth round, Andreeva will face 10th seed Emma Navarro, whom she currently leads in the head-to-head 1-0.
Her sole victory over the US star came at the Cincinnati Open in 2024, where she won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
Navarro, who, along with Andreeva is one of the few top seeds left at Wimbledon, knocked out defending champion Barbora Krejcikova in the third round.
The American is looking to return to the quarter-finals at the All England Club for the second consecutive year, while the Russian is aiming to get there for the first time.
