Mirra Andreeva has battled into the fourth round of the Italian Open after a hard-fought victory over Viktorija Golubic.

Andreeva defeated her Swiss opponent 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 in Rome, where the Russian now takes on Elise Mertens.

Having received a bye in round one of the WTA 1000 tournament, eighth seed Andreeva beat Antonia Ruzic 6-1, 6-0 in her opening match.

She’s currently seeking to immediately bounce back from her near misses at the Madrid Open last week, where she lost both the singles and doubles finals.

Andreeva is also looking for further WTA 1000 career success, having just hit an impressive milestone at that level at the Italian Open.

Mirra Andreeva claims 50th WTA 1000 win in Rome

Andreeva only just turned 19 in Madrid, but the talented teenager now boasts a superb 50 WTA 1000 wins.

It is a remarkable feat from the Russian, who made unforgettable strides at that level in the 2025 WTA season.

She claimed back-to-back WTA 1000 titles in Dubai and Indian Wells last year aged 17, becoming the youngest WTA 1000 winner since the format began in 2009.

Further success at the level is now on the cards, with Andreeva boasting a 14-2 record on clay this season.

Along with her run to the Madrid Open final on the surface, she won the title in Linz and reached the semifinals in Stuttgart.

And while she has been able to deal with the pressure more often than not, there is still so much to learn and so much patience required from her fans and other invested parties.

Andreeva has been told to balance her emotions to further improve her game, but it’s fair to say that she is doing more than okay for someone so young.
