Mirra Andreeva will be filled with both nerves and excitement after setting up a Wuhan Open match with her sister Erika.
The Andreeva sisters will meet each other for the first time as professionals in their Wuhan Open round of 32 match.
It comes after Mirra Andreeva beat Wang Xiyu 7-6(7-5), 6-3 in their round of 64 tie, with Erika Andreeva beating Dayana Yastremska 7-5, 6-4.
The latter sister has, however, had to come through Wuhan Open qualifying to make it to this stage of the tournament.
They will now become the first pair of sisters to face each other in a WTA competition since Serena and Venus Williams met in Lexington 2020.

Mirra Andreeva equals Coco Gauff record at Wuhan Open
Mirra is, however, creating her own history at this moment in time, with the 17-year-old breaking the WTA top 20 for the first time in her career.
And after her latest Wuhan Open win, the 17-year-old became the player with the joint-most WTA-1000 wins in a season before turning 18, as per OptaAce.
The Russian teenager, who is currently 19th in the WTA rankings, has equalled Coco Gauff’s tally of 11 wins from 2021.
Can Mirra Andreeva edge past Erika Andreeva at the Wuhan Open?
The 17-year-old is flying high on the court at this moment in time, with Andreeva having just reached the China Open quarter-final, her fourth quarter-final of 2024.
She climbed three places in the rankings thanks to that run in Beijing, which was ultimately ended by home favourite Qinwen Zheng.
Andreeva broke a 19-year record by reaching the top 20, becoming the youngest player to achieve the feat since Nicole Vaidisova in 2006.

But overcoming her more experienced sister Erika will not be easy, although she is just three years older than Mirra at 20.
The younger of the duo does, however, already know how to deal with plenty of pressure, with Andreeva having faced Coco Gauff at Arthur Ashe in the 2023 US Open.
